Natural resource management

conserving water and soil

project initiated in 2021
1,229 structures | 6 villages

Through this project, 784 structures were constructed this year to conserve soil and water during the monsoon. These structures reduce the flow of running water, helping it to seep into the ground and increase the groundwater level preventing soil erosion and felling of trees.

2023-24 highlights

  • constructed 106 gully plugs 24 gabion structures
  • constructed 106 stone bunds, 165 farm bunds and four farm ponds
  • constructed 368 trenches and 11 other structures

Replenishing earth

During the monsoon of 2022 and 2023, the structures conserved 31 crore litres of water and 465 tonnes of soil.
